This is What Your Heavenly Father Wants

People say that God's love is "free." But Jesus said, "If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me." Matthew 16:24. Are we required to do something before God loves us? Is God's love withheld if we don't please Him?
