“Then the Lord God called to the man, and said to him, ‘Where are you?’”
Genesis 3:9 NASB
God looks for a man to bear His image,
to share His vision and rule His planet.
Where are you?
The man said, “I heard the sound of You in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked: so I hid myself.” Genesis 3:10 NASB
God looks for a man to bear His image, to bring Him praise and to show His glory. Why are you hiding?
Now the LORD saw,
And it was displeasing in His sight that there was no justice.
And He saw that there was no man,
And was astonished that there was no one to intercede;
Isaiah 59:15-16 NASB
God looks for a man to execute justice, to always tell the truth, and to rescue the oppressed. Why is there no one to intercede?
And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the book and to break its seals?” And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the book or to look into it. Then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the book or to look into it;
Revelation 5:2-4 NASB
God looks for a man who is worthy to judge, able to make things right, and trustworthy with power. Why does the prophet weep?
I found tears in a garden and sweaty drops of blood on the ground. Rachel weeping for her children; they were no were to be found. (Matthew 2:8)
And God saw that there was no man,
No one to intercede,
No one to bear His True image,
“Then His own arm brought salvation to Him and His righteousness upheld Him.
He put on righteousness like a breastplate,
And a helmet of salvation on His head;
He put on garments of vengeance for clothing and wrapped Himself with zeal as a mantle.” Isaiah 59:16-17 NASB
And Jesus came into Nazareth, His
hometown, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read. 17And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written,
18“THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME,
BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR.
HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES,
AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND,
TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED,
19TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD.”
20And He closed the book, gave it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on Him.21And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” 22And all were speaking well of Him, and wondering at the gracious words which were falling from His lips;” Luke 4:16-22 NASB
And one of the elders said to me, “Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals.”
6And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders a Lamb standing, as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth. 7And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. 8When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9And they sang a new song, saying,
“Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
10“You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”
Revelation 5:5-10 NASB
God looked for a man to rule the earth. He found only one worthy and His name is Jesus.
For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace,
On the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness
From then on and forevermore.
The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.
Isaiah 9:6-7 NASB
Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying,
“The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever.” And the twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying,
“We give You thanks, O Lord God, the Almighty, who are and who were, because You have taken Your great power and have begun to reign.
Revelation 11:15-17 NASB
God still looks for men: “Whom shall I send?” (Isaiah 6:8)
For men He can trust.
“Who will go for Us?” (Isaiah 6:8)
How will they hear without a preacher?
How will they go unless they are sent? (Romans 10:14)
“Come and follow Me,” He says, I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19)
No one had ever seen God
Or His true image in man,
But the only begotten,
Who is in the bosom of the Father,
He has explained Him. (John 1:18)
God finally found His man and all who are found in Him.
