5 Reasons to Share the Gospel

Here are 5 reasons that we are focusing

on evangelism in 2019: 1. The World Needs Good News Because we've got it. If we believe it, why wouldn't we share this news with people? Really. If it is good, if we believe it, why are we quiet?

2. Because Jesus is so Good. Jesus has done such an incomprehensibly good thing for the world and for us. He deserves to be worshiped and praised for it. 3. Because the Gospel requires a voice. "How will they hear without a preacher?" (Romans 10:14-21). And how can we preach without using words? 4.Because the best defense is a good offense. If we don't like the way the country is going and the decisions our loved ones are making, let us better articulate the good news for them. 5. Because sharing Jesus makes us become more like Him. If we want to be like Jesus, we must do what He is doing. Jesus is giving Himself in love and service to us and the world. He asks us to join Him in self-giving love. We can do this because He first gives Himself to us.

5 Reasons to share the Gospel

One reason we may be quiet about the Gospel is simply because we have never really understood it. Don't let that silence you. One of the best ways to learn something is by trying to teach it. That is all that I am doing myself. And the truth is, we are not given new life through the accumulation of knowledge. We are given new life by the knowledge and acceptance of the fact that Jesus loves us and promises us a regenerated life if we surrender control of our lives to Him. A greater understanding of the Gospel will not make us more loved by God, but it will bring more freedom and strength to keep trusting Jesus when life gets dark and confusing. It will also make us more effective in reaching other people when it is combined with genuine love, which is the natural out-flowing of a true understanding of the Gospel. So, let us make 2019 a year of soaking ourselves in the Gospel and allowing God to squeeze us out like a sponge on this thirsty world. We will see a harvest if we do not grow tired or weary of doing good (Galatians 6:9).
